Why is the price changing?
The price change is necessary to continue offering you the best rental experience and security, even in market conditions where we have paid out nearly half a million euros to our clients in the past year and provided hundreds of hours of legal advice to both tenants and landlords. Additionally, this will allow us to improve and maintain our environment.
There are hundreds of cases each year where we have successfully mediated disputes between tenants and landlords so neither party suffers financially. Such mediation is time-consuming but, as experience shows, very necessary in the Estonian rental market.
In addition to that, we’ve done a lot to simplify and digitalise the rental experience. We want to keep doing this by including additional features in the platform that the users will need.
I do not agree with the price increase. What can I do?
If you do not agree with the price increase, you have the right to terminate your rental agreement in the Rendin environment by April 1st and enter into a new rental agreement outside of Rendin. Rendin cannot terminate the rental agreement on your behalf, as it is not a party to the rental agreement. If you wish to terminate the agreement, please contact the other party to the agreement.
Since the validity of the rental agreement is regulated by the Law of Obligations Act, we cannot offer the possibility to terminate the rental agreement faster under special conditions. The termination of the agreement can only take place under normal conditions set by the law (either mutual agreement of the parties or, a unilateral 3-month notice).
Rendin's fee is becoming too high for me. Is there anything that can be done?
We understand that the change in Rendin's fee is an additional financial burden. Since Rendin provides security and legal advice to both parties, our client surveys have shown that a large proportion of clients believe that both parties (landlord and tenant) should pay equally for Rendin's service.
Therefore, in March (we will also send a separate notice about this soon), we will introduce the possibility of splitting the service fee equally between the parties for existing agreements as well. Please discuss the division of the fee with the other party to the agreement. If you reach an agreement on the division of the fee and formalize it in the environment by the end of March, both parties would pay 2% of the Rendin fee from thereon forward.
Is there anything else I should keep in mind?
If you remain the payer of the Rendin fee and you have a recurring payment order set up for paying the Rendin fee, please check it and change the payment amount accordingly.
